Our Work

Shrinking habitats, air pollution, sea-level rise, drought, wetland degradation, an out-of-balance cycle of fires, poorly planned suburban sprawl, unsustainable forestry practices...the list of major threats to birds is a long and growing. North America has lost 3 billion birds since 1970 and two-thirds of our bird species face the threat of extinction if we don’t address climate change. Birds are indicators for the health of the resources that support all of us.

If birds are in trouble, so are we. The birds are telling us it's time to act.

Working arm in arm with experts and grassroots leaders at the National Audubon Society we take action at the local, state, and national level to address climate change, protect birds and the places they need, make our coasts more resilient, improve water conservation, and defend our nation’s bedrock conservation laws like the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, Endangered Species Act, and National Environmental Policy Act.
